Safest College Campuses (Lowest Violent-Crime Rate) — AdmitQuant
Safest college campuses
Colleges (2,000+ undergraduates) ranked by on-campus violent crimes per 1,000 students — from the U.S. Dept. of Education Campus Safety (Clery Act) data. Lower is safer; read alongside campus setting.
By on-campus violent criminal offenses (murder/non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery, aggravated assault) per 1,000 students in the most recent reported year, from the U.S. Department of Education's Campus Safety and Security (Clery Act) data. We limit the list to schools with at least 2,000 undergraduates so a single incident doesn't distort a tiny school's rate.
What are the caveats?
Clery counts reflect crimes reported to the institution, so reporting culture and campus setting matter — an urban school may look worse partly because of its location. Use this as one input alongside a visit and each school's security resources, not a definitive safety verdict.
